Hi BPS Members,

Meeting Report

What a brilliant teach-in presented by Peter. We are so fortunate to have Peter who is always willing to share his knowledge gained over many years in the hobby. Sadly, once again, we had the zoom echo gremlins present but Martin soon sorted them out. Peter kicked off his presentation by editing one of Jane’s entries which received a harsh critique last week from John Tylsley. Members enjoyed Peter’s video very much but felt the need to watch it again to make sure that they had a full grasp of his editing methods and technique. Peter answered members’ questions before we had a break. Following a short break Peter continued with a video he produced detailing the tools, equipment and method needed to safely clean camera sensors. Peter stressed the need to clean sensors regularly. On behalf of all members I would like to thank Peter for another masterclass.

Great news from Martin, He has set up a private Youtube group to store and keep all of our old meeting videos, last night’s videos can be found via these links:

It was good to see Barry Freeborn join us for Peter’s tuition evening. Well done Barry, hope you enjoyed it. We still have some members missing out, give me a call if you need and help or advice on connecting etc.

WCPF Kingswood Salver Competition Group Report

As planned we met at our HQ and maintained the Covid rule of 6. It did cause a lack of continuity, mainly because we didn’t know what the earlier groups had covered. It’s planned to hold another Zoom meeting as discussed last night, in the meantime, can all the members who took photos at either of two sessions please post them to our One Photo group to allow all members to have a look and form what they think to be a suitable panel of five. I think I can speak for us all by saying that, in general, we don’t have the finished entry yet. Not to worry, we still have a couple of weeks to complete it.

Next Week’s Meeting – October 6th

We have Julian Elliott’s lecture “Landscape and Travel Photography”. Romsey Camera Club will be joining us for this Zoom meeting and will be sharing the cost. Make sure you have booked your ticket via our FB event page. Log on from 19:30 for the start of the meeting at 19:45. The lecture will start at 8:00pm.
