Sedgemoor Battle Report - Bridgwater vs Yeovil and Mid Somerset

What a night and what a great turnout for our annual battle. I must say that I felt a little sorry for Ken and Martin who had another mess to deal with due to yet another judge letting us down, this time without notice. It appears that the judge thought he should be with us on Wednesday (today) despite all the correspondence and checks sent to remind him of his commitment. Thankfully, Ken Hocking had a copy of the digital entries which were sent to the judge. The evening continued to be rescued for us by a former club member Frank Arnold who was visiting us while on holiday here in Bridgwater. Frank gave us an excellent on the spot critique during the image presentation which allowed us to get an independent view of our digital entries to which Martin informed members of the judge’s score.

The results were as follows:

Digital: In the digital competition Mid Somerset took first place with 3 point advantage over us and Yeovil were about 8 points behind us.

Prints: Martin could only read out the print titles and the scores given by our missing judge who managed somehow to send them to Martin via email during the evening despite having the wrong email address. Once again we were pipped to the post by just two points leaving the Mid Somerset club as print winners and overall winners. We took second place, leaving Yeovil in third. In all we had a very good evening despite just about almost everything that could go wrong and actually doing so.
