Hi BPS members
On Tuesday night we had another excellent meeting, most of the success being down to a few members who worked very hard to set up our annual portrait photography evening headed by Peter. Thank you Peter for your huge effort setting up your equipment and also helping our members gain some great experience taking quality portraits. Thanks to all the members who contributed by bringing, setting up and dismantling the studio set ups. We are also grateful to our models who did such a great job. I hope to see samples from all members posted to our FB group and from this, we can learn from each other and see how our more experienced members fared. Please send some of your best shots in the normal digital size to Matt firstname.lastname@example.org who can, when time permits, upload them to our website gallery.
This meeting will see the results of our latest monthly competition [Prints - Somewhere in Somerset] and [DI - Open] Judged by Laura Pierce. I’m looking forward to seeing a wide range of prints of our beautiful county. Between us we entered 38 prints and 45 digital entries.
If you need help entering PM me or give me a call on 455621.
DI entries to be submitted online via the exhibition web site. Closing date for online entries is March 4th. Prints should be handed to Andy White at or before or at our meeting on March 5th. (remember you have to enter prints online in the same way as the DI competition}

Please send your entries to Matt via email@example.com who will be uploading them to our website. More information to follow on FB group. A typical image should be something of general interest and one which will cause each member to think about how they would improve the image from a judge’s point of view. Matt informs me that, to date, he has not received any entries.
There is an opportunity to get free tickets, however, I would advise you, as a past member of the club, to be very careful of where you take photos. Do not flash your cameras around the paddock because there are professionals who pay to get these shots. PLEASE BE DISCRETE!! or I fear you will be stopped, or thrown out. I have photographed racing there in the past but I stay away from the main paddock and office buildings which is the official line on this matter.
With the weather being reasonably settled at the moment I’m thinking of arranging a day out on the Quantocks, Exmoor or the Somerset coast. See FB events for details and to add your name (maybe a mid-week trip, weather dependent)
