Weekly Newsletter 17th May

Hi BPS members,

15th May Meeting Report

Peter welcomed members and we then circulated the Summer Programme. Regular events are being held on Tuesday evenings and weekends with the intention to use the group closed Facebook account to manage attendees, transport etc.

Andy White reported back on his liaisons with the Engine Room, advising they now appeared to want Bridgwater landscape images rather than portraits. After a brief review it was collectively decided that we would be unable to help the Engine Room on this occasion.

Thanks to Ken we were then treated to an Audio Visual review of the entries and winners of this seasons competitions, The AV was very professional and complemented the large quantity of quality images created by members this season.

We then present this year’s winners certificates and it was really great to see several new names receiving awards, well done all. the full list of the recipients is shown below.

May Meetings

Tues 22nd May, Annual General Meeting, a good attendance is requested so that you can all share views and help shape the future of your society by selecting the committee, reviewing proposals, and having your say.

Tues 29th May, Burnham Stroll, High Tide & Sunset an evening out with our cameras to Burnham on Sea. (High Tide 7:46 Sunset 9:17) Meet at BWPS club @ 7:00pm or near lighthouse location around 8:00pm.

Summer Events

On 10th May via email we canvassed members for the following two events, a) Evening Private Group Visit on 19th June to Shepton Mallet Prison and b) 22nd Jul for River Exe Boat Trip. We have received some responses but DO NEED identification of all interested by this weekend to decide if we can do private group arrangement or some alternative.

We had also considered a group visit this weekend to WCPF Members Exhibition Bovey Tracy Golf Club, however few were available, and someone mentioned it clashed with some wedding/street party event? If you wish to visit the exhibition it runs until 28th May see the WCPF website for details.

We are also aware of Grass Track Racing at Crossmoor Farm, Spaxton on Sunday, again we have had a low take up, so individuals will need to attend just as the ‘public’ as we have no privileges on this occasion, timings are understood to be mid-morning for warm ups and afternoon for racing.

Sat 26th & Sun 27th is Westonzoyland War Event Meet at location from 10:00am see Westonzoyland War Event on the Facebook group.

Regards

Martin
