Weekly Newsletter 16th November

Hi BPS members.

Sheila and John certainly gave us something to think about during a very thought-provoking presentation. John and Sheila alternated their contributions and covered all aspects of “Altered Imaging”. John pointed out that with winter approaching and dull and dark days we could use our spare time to collect images that may prove useful when creating our own altered images. The subject matter is up to personal choice, his preference is science fiction. He showed us many variations including water droplets and images taken with a swinging torch. To finish the evening Sheila demonstrated how to assemble a collection of images to create an imaginative print or DI. She recommended that members use the many tutorials that can be found on YouTube. It was good to see members from Sedgemoor and Phoenix clubs. I plan to keep you all informed about their future events and hopefully we can support each other when top speakers are engaged in the future.

Christmas meal

Please give your name and deposit of £5 to Aneka asap. We have booked Harvest Moon at North Newton again this year on December 12th. Wives, husbands, partners, friends, etc are all welcome. The price is £13.50 for two courses with a turkey and beef carvery provided we have 25 people attending but will be a little more if we can’t get the required numbers because we have to pay for 25 meals regardless.

At our committee meeting held earlier this week we discussed the possibility that our less experienced members may be interested in some detailed tuition. We have a free evening on December 19th when we could, if there is sufficient interest, hold a special meeting to cover any subjects that are required. Please let me know if you are interested and what you would like to have included.
